After losing 115-points on Friday, the Dow fell another 223-points on Monday, and most of that came in the last hour of trading. For the first time in a long time, we're seeing a little panic out there, and it seems to be a bit of a shock to some of the newer investors. Yes, markets do go down sharply at times, but they also come back with a vengeance once they rebound.

Volatility is king and the wild swings in the market have investors on edge. We have had 13 triple digit moves in the Dow in the last 19 days. Last week alone saw four, and three of them were 272-point or more... in both directions. It's no wonder investors are confused and concerned.

Fear is high, and it's not just the fear of losing money. Some are losing money but don't want to sell out of fear of missing the snap-back rally, which we have seen can be just as explosive. ...

The Dow dropped another 335-points yesterday as the wild swings continue. Although the S&P 500 remained above recent lows intraday, it did make a new 2-month closing low. 2% losses were racked up in the stock indices, and bonds were flat.

Another triple digit move for the Dow yesterday - this one a 275-point gain. These large swings are making our necks sore. It's like watching a tennis match. The TSP funds saw solid gains across the board, and even bonds were up.
