  1. New 2019 highs. Next two days crucial

    Stocks rallied out of the gate on Monday, holding onto the those Sunday night futures' gains. The Dow gained 330-points and we saw 1% plus gains almost across the board. It was the first day after the big first quarter and some follow-through may not be a big surprise on a Monday, but as we talked about yesterday, a new month (usually within the first 1 - 3 days) can trigger reversals from a major move in the prior month. We'll see.

  2. Sunday futures pointing toward a breakout

    Stocks rallied to end the month of March on Friday, and it put an exclamation point on a great first quarter for stocks. The Dow gained 211-points and the gains also pushed the S&P 500 just north of that long-term resistance area that we have been watching. Bond yields were up giving stocks a bonus catalyst, and there was some positive talk on the China trade Front.

  3. TSP Talk Weekly Wrap Up

    Stocks prices moved directionless through the week until sellers stepped aside mid-Thursday to the close on Friday resulting in more than 1% gains for U.S. stocks. The bears failed to gain any real momentum when the opportunity presented itself. Dip buyers were at work this week shutting down any pull-back keeping prices afloat. Stocks finished the week at their highs with some credit given to more news of progress on trade deals with China.

  5. Follow the yields

    Once again we're seeing wide trading ranges with the indices closing somewhere closer to the middle of the range, which is showing a lot of indecision from investors. Yesterday the Dow lost 32-points, but it was up 100 at one point, and down about 230 at the lows. And once again we saw stocks move higher during the last hour of trading, after the bond market had closed, although there was some selling in the final minutes.
