  1. TSP Talk Weekly Wrap Up

Volatility in stocks continued into the second week of February. Stock prices were anything but consistent this week. We saw price action anywhere from tight and flat, gap ups, and sell-offs. Inflation data and geopolitical tensions took stock indices off their highs for the week and sent some into negative territory. The S&P 500 was down this week following two consecutive weeks of gains. The C-fund lost 1.79% this week despite being up 1.94% in three days after Wednesday's close. The small caps ...
  2. TSP Talk: The CPI brings volatility back with a vengence

Stocks remain volatile as Wednesday's big gains were quickly erased after another very inflationary CPI report. Yields spiked, the Fed grumbled, and the stock market buckled under the pressure. The indices are up against some resistance and it looks like a make or break area. A gap up open above resistance would probably frustrate the most people, so that's a possibility. Bonds were down as yields made a new high.

  5. TSP Talk: A quiet, yet volatile day

It was a slow but volatile day for stocks to start the week. The Dow gained a point, giving up a solid triple digit gain late. The broader indices were mixed as large tech stocks held back the Nasdaq and S&P 500, while small caps held onto a moderate gain. Bonds were up as yields backed off slightly from Friday's big move higher. The dollar was relatively flat but the chart looks troublesome.
