    Greetings (Last Chart Revised)

    Here's a yearly projection, followed by a March Projection, capped off with a 9-day word of caution.

    February 2024 was a phenomenal month, across the previous 63 years from 1961:

    This Feb ranked as the 7th best of 64 Februaries with a 5.17% monthly gain.
    Jan & Feb together rank as the 13th best of 64 with a 6.84% YTD gain.


    While not a quarterly stat, at 11.57% this Dec/Jan/Feb together rank as the 9th best ...

  2. Stats for February

    Greetings

    Generally speaking it was an average middle of the road January. Ranking 33rd of 63, this January closed up 1.59%, our MTD intra-high ranked 26th at 3.92% and our MTD intra-low ranked 23rd best at -1.33%.

  3. The January Trifecta


    As outlined in the Stock Trader's Almanac, the January Trifecta consists of using three time frames as a seasonal indicator for the performance of the year. Simply put, when all three time frames are positive, the year tends to close positive and the gains tend to be stronger.

  4. Stats for December 2023

    Greetings

    Ranking 4th of 64, November 2023 closed up 8.92%. This positive close has finalized our 3-Month losing streak and closed us back above the 12-Month Simple Moving Average. From the chart below, our MTD high was 9.39% while our MTD low was .09%

    For some perspective, November closed YTD at 18.97%. This is above the 15.11% average-of-all-gains. If we were to close the year today, then 2023 would rank 20th of 64 years.

  5. Preview into December

    Greetings

    Here's a quick peek into December's seasonal statistics.

    From 63-Years Q4 ranks as the best of the four quarters while December ranks in the middle (the best win ratio but lower average-of-gains).

    When November closed the month up (43 of 60 times), December closed up 29 of 43 times, giving us a 67% win ratio based on the November close.
