  2. Charting: Complacency

    Good evening

    As we head into the end of the month, much of the price action remains the same, fear & volatility has subsided, and from my perception has been replaced with complacency.

    • Confirmation of the short-term price reversal was displayed with a spike in volume at wave 8
    • The February descending parallel price channel has been broken, we now have a higher low at wave 8 and a higher high at wave 9

  3. Chart Patterns: Update for the Complex Head & Shoulders

    Last week was a short week and as such I felt this would make for a decent pause in price. While the Transports did close flat, much to my dismay the other major indexes posted stronger gains. Still, my analysis is telling me this is a good time to sit on my hands until I feel a better buying opportunity comes along. As for systems, I have 1 that posted a buy for bonds on 7 July, and two others that posted a sell for stocks on 5&6 July. Either ways, at this point in time I'm not recommending a buy ...
  4. Identifying the Trend

    Going over the data after Friday's close I chose not to write a blog over the weekend because there wasn't anything to say I haven't already said. In my Account Talk I stated "If I believe I can escape with a gain or flat, then I'm likely to make an exit tomorrow and let everyone else chase the rest of this rally."While my exit yielded a 2.70% gain for the month (awesome), I did lose out on an additional gain of 2.63% (not so awesome.)     Disclosure: The Chart Pattern blogs are exercises not meant to be traded off of within the TSP system of rules. I myself don't trade chart patterns within the the major indexes on the daily timeframe and I don't recommend you do either. The lack of flexibility in acquiring the right entry & exit make these patterns difficult to trade. Add to this the fact the major indexes are watched by everyone and often times when everyone is watching the same chart pattern, it does not come into fruition. ...
