  2. TBS: Does Sell in May and go away really work?

    We are in month #2 of what many call "Sell in May and go away" or "The worst 6 months." It's a phenomenon where on April 30th investors sell their stocks and buy bonds. The question is does it work? As with any statistical data the answer is "it depends." The problem with all these calender-based trading events is that it's really easy to manipulate the data to the perspective you want to convey. When you hear stats being floated around you have to ask yourself a few questions.

  3. The Bond Spectrum: It's that good

    Looking at the Bond Spectrum, we can see we are approaching extreme overbought conditions, but this isn't me advising you to sell. In a bull market you fade the rallies not sell them. When I go back in history and look for similar setups, I can see these were nothing more than starting points for higher prices. If this were a bear market I'd advice you to sell at these levels, but it's not so I'm keeping my advice from the last Spectrum report.

    This week the F-Fund is the clear winner with an 80% reading and the trend is clearly up with prices above 75% within the 6-month chart. This trend is strong, as are the internals with the stochastic having managed an unbelievable 25 days above 80. This is what I'd call embedded to the upside (not overbought.) We've also closed in a huge gap from the left red square. The major moving average deviations I watch are gaining positive
