Obama on Health Care - A Political Perspective

For quite some time I avoided the political side of this MB. Part of it was time constraints and part of it was the sensitive nature of the subject. I don't remember why I chose to venture into it. Maybe it was like a black hole that eventually sucked me in.
For whatever reason I did jump into it. Not unexpectedly, I found that it can be an emotional journey, not just for myself, but for anyone who participates. The arguments are older than we are. The political debate raging for centuries. It can be passionate.
And that's when it can become counter-productive. Tom mentioned that it's not worth losing friends over. And it's not. I think we all have to find our own truth. It is elusive and the learning curve lasts longer than our lifetimes.
I like phil's simple answer to an otherwise heated debate. It's not personal. I think as long as we trade points and counterpoints without getting personal respect should reign on both sides. It can be difficult sometimes to walk that fence. But that's where the beer comes in.
Buster and I had a small argument over a political issue not long ago too. But in the end we had a beer.
I like that ending. It's not personal.
