It was another day of mixed action with the Dow dipping 6-points on Thursday and the small caps lagging again on the downside, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq rallied back from early losses to close just north of break-even.

The Dow gained 8-points yesterday as stocks rallied off their morning lows, but most of the major indices closed down on the day with the small caps lagging again with a 0.64% loss. The Transportation Index was down, as was the S&P and Nasdaq after the disappointing earnings from Apple.

It was a choppy day for stocks on Tuesday but we saw a strong close to push the indices into the green as investors may have been optimistic about the release of Apple's earnings coming after the bell. The Dow ended the day up 36-points while the S&P and Nasdaq also saw small gains. The smalls caps lagged again with a 0.35% loss and the Transports rebounded with a nearly 1% gain.

After a 7th consecutive negative Friday, stocks bounced back on Monday when there were no reported major geopolitical issues over the weekend so investors Friday jitters were put to rest. There were signs of dip buyers in the morning as the early weakness was quickly bought, but as we got closer to the close, we saw some selling so there are still some nerves out there.

Just another down Friday, the seventh in a row for the Dow and S&P 500. The Dow lost 41-points on Friday with a similar percentage loss for the S&P 500. The small caps and the Transportation Index both lost about 1%.
