    Stocks were up for the second week in a row after falling hard the first two weeks of the year. The early losses were greater than the recent gains this month so the stock indices saw significant losses for January but some of the damage was repaired by the recent oversold bounce.   3. Trading the Stats: February, Week 5, Part 2/2

    Trading day of the week: Previously, I've only been posting 5 trading days of data to keep the percentile data tables visible. Problem is, this doesn't leave much room for the user to forecast ahead, so I've increased from 5 to 10 trading days, and replaced the percentile data tables with their actually ranking.

    The indexes and categories are ranked against themselves (not against each other) As an example, the day with the highest winning ratio will be marked #1, this means

  4. Choppy sessions ends higher


    Well, the best laid plans ... I have been traveling all day and was not prepared to write a commentary, but as Murphy's Law would have it TommyIV, who was supposed to fill in for me, could not connect to the server Thursday night, so unfortunately there's no commentary today (Friday.)

  5. The Fed trumps oil


    After Apple's earnings took some of the steam out of the market on Wednesday morning, stocks started to comeback during the late morning and early afternoon, but the Fed's policy statement sent investors running again and we saw losses across the board by the close, particularly the tech sector, thanks to Apple. The Dow ended the day down 223-points.
