    Default EbbChart System Subscription Questions

    Tom,
The subscription terms of service indicate the following:

"PLEASE NOTE: Any "special" or discounted subscriptions, defined as being an offer below the current subscription rate, will not be refundable in any amount after 30 days of sign-up."

My question is, is the yearly subscription rate considered "special" or discounted given that it is a 15% savings over the monthly rate? I am concerned that if the federal thrift retirement investment board changes the IFT rules, I may have a yearly subscription that is of little value and not reimbursable under the normal pro-rated rules.

I know you're busy so I'll chill until you get time to respond.

    Tom,

I subscribed today for a year to Ebb. Credit card company says the charge took affect almost the minute I hit the button on credit card charge with you. I can't get into the premium subscription however.

Will some email come to confirm the purchase as well?

    What do I do?

    Thanks

Tom - I am very encouraged by some of the enhanced subscription services you have planned for release next month. I would appreciate an answer to my question below.

    Sorry - didn't see this.

No, annual subscriptions are not special and are eligible for pro-rated refunds.

Don't know what Tom will say, but the only rule change I contemplate that would pose a problem is if they (TSP board) eliminated the ability to make daily IFTs... Don't really see that happening...

If they decide to assess some kind of fee for IFTs, it will not likely be enough to discourage most people from following such a service. Even if fees for IFTs ran to a couple hundred bucks a year for very frequent IFTs, it would still be a small fraction compared to the benefit of being able to enhance and maximize my returns.

And, by the time they (TSP board) get to this issue, the annual subcription rate pro-rated would llikely leave very little cash left for a refund...

For those really concerned about such an issue, maybe a month to month subscription would be more appropriate.

Not too concerned, but happen to be one of those "read the fine print" type people.

Is there a rummor of such intentions, or we are just playing the "what if..."?

Was discussed previously on this board extensively. Thrift board said they might look at it. That's about all so far.

I hope every single person on this board is paying close attention, and if they DO propose any fees, that we ALL gang up and start writing our congress people, and the thrift board, and tell them not to do it. It's not the cost of IFT's that the board wants to do- it is that they want to discourage people from making moves for their own good. They think we can't make our own TSP allocation decisions. The costs are lower now that ever before, and are a fraction of any other mutal fund available anywhere. It's not the costs, and no one should be led to believe incorrectly that costs are high. It's not true.
