I am pretty sure I voted for him, but I admit was a lot more naive then about how elections worked. I thought people were supposed to vote for the best candidate and not for a political party. It turns out that he got Clinton elected.

I think America's eyes have been opened with the last two administrations and it might be the best opportunity for a 3rd party to step up.

Yes that's the sad truth, but I didn't want the other two (especially Billy Boy) and did it more as a demonstration to myself that the best man for the job had no chance but deserved my vote!! If he would have won we probably wouldn't be in this mess we're in today.

I'm not saying I shouldn't have voted for him. I just didn't realize that he had no chance. Now I know that everything is about money and partisanship.

Just watching the congress vote on recent issues showed us this, although this health care bill may be the exception as some Dems are holding out. Good for them - and not because they are against the bill - but because they have the guts to vote with their constituents and not their party. Of course, they do what it takes to get re-elected, but again ... good for them.

I was a Ross Perot voter in 92.

That was the last time the League of Women Voters sponsored the debates. After that, the two parties kicked the League of Women Voters out of the debate business. Now, both the Reps and the Dems will never allow a third candidate on the same stage with them, assuring that no future third-party candidate will be able to mount a decent campaign.

I miss Teddy Roosevelt- the last third-party candidate who had a real chance....... :-)

General Motors expands in China

GM first began regular production in China in May 2001

General Motors has signed up to a 2bn yuan ($293m; £180m) joint venture with the Chinese state-owned carmaker FAW to make light trucks and vans.

The vehicles will initially be sold in China under the FAW brand, but could in future be exported under the GM brand.

They will be produced at existing FAW facilities in the cities of Changchun and Harbin.

GM sold 818,442 vehicles in China in the first six months of 2009, compared with 1,094,561 in the whole of 2008.
Demand was particularly strong for its minivans and other small vehicles.

"For us in China, this is an important complement to the rest of our portfolio," said Kevin Wale, managing director of GM's Chinese operations.

"We are well established in passenger vehicles and mini commercial vehicles and we haven't had a presence in the truck segment."

GM makes Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac vehicles in a joint venture with Chinese manufacturer SAIC Motor Corp.
It also makes minivans, pick-up trucks and the Spark compact car in a venture with SAIC and Liuzhou Wuling Automobile.

GM has recently emerged from bankruptcy protection in the US and has seen its sales fall year-on-year in most of its Western markets, so China is a key area of growth.

If I'd been as aware of big-scale economic trends and bankster shenanigans back then as I am now, I might have become a Perot supporter too. Was an Independent in my early adulthood but climbed off the fence to vote in a primary that mattered to me sometime back(state primary rules). I'm considering saying heck with primaries from now on and turning Independent again or at least 3d-party for a longtime to come. Maybe a lot of other Bluedog Dems like me out there.

Just had a conversation with old friend yesterday over dinner, insurance agent (mod Rep) who's built her business from the ground up, knows what it's like to be a single mom with 3 kids, under the poverty line. She says if small biz is forced to provide 8% for govt health care, she'll have to lay off her one employee due to insufficient cash flow. She only grew biz big enough in the last 3 years to even afford having her own independent office and an employee to answer the phone when she's out making site visits. Kids all grown now, on their own and doing well at least.

Good for her! We need more Blue Dog Dem like you to join me in a better Party. Don't feel obliged to the Democratic Party, they don't to you.:D

Both Parties hung the people out to dry with NAFTA and those people keep going back to them. I just don't understand it. How many time will we get kicked in the teeth and just turn and vote for the other Party for the sake of "CHANGE". Nothing changed.

Everyone look at the first Pres. debate with Perot, Bush, and Clinton. The Moderator ask why each candidate was different. When it got to Clinton he addressed Bush directly and promised...................."CHANGE". NOT!

Perot made the best points that he was not bought and owned by PAC money or the Parties or big businesses. Just the people.

Real change will come when the next President is neither a Dem or Rep.
