I am seeking recommendation for a long term strategy. I am retired, cannot contribute any more, but can perform interfund transfers. Please advise NB

NB,

Holy cow, where do I start with this one...

Some of the many questions you should be asking yourself to make this all important decision:

1. Am I an active trader or and I the buy and hold type?

2. What level of risk (loss) can I handle?

3. What level of risk do I need to take (how much of a withdrawal do I want)?

4. When and how often will I be making withdrawals from the funds?

5. Am I comfortable with market returns or will I try to hold equal amounts of all types of stocks (and either beat or lag the Wilshire 5000 returns)?

Hope this helps.

NB -

Are you currently deriving income from your TSP or are you just trying to make it grow for now?

Hi,

Just trying to make it grow, I can't take anything out yet for another 15 years.

Self promotion alert! ;)

I put "suggested" long term allocations on the http://www.tsptalk.com/longer_term.htmlpage. It is updated occasionally. Sounds like you can get aggressive with 15 years left.
