View Full Version : SSN's ending with 8 or 9
I was told that some error at the TSP is responsible for people with last # 8 or 9 in their SSN will not have their transfer posted. Nothing went through if your social ended with an 8 or 9. What the #%$@% (mailto:#%$@%) is that all about? Was referred to the frtib for further info.

The same has happened to me! When I go to Account Access / Interfund Transfer - Current Distribution / REQUEST INTERFUND TRANSFER, IT LISTS MY LAST TRANSFER EFFECTIVE 10/19/04
AS PENDING AND DID NOT ALLOW ME TO CANCEL OR MAKE ANOTHER TRANSFER TODAY? STUCK!:@I printed it out and saved the screen to file as proof!

It's amazing how these errors rarely benefit us. The place to be Wednesday was the S fund and most of you tried to get in there and had problems. If the S fund was down Wednesday I'm guessing you wouldn't have seen this problem. Is this Murphy's Law or is TSP pocketing the money? Well I doubt that but the timing is unbelievable.

:X Do we have any recourse? Do we have theright to expect that a transfer should go through as advertised? Is TSP covered because of the disclaimer on the transfer page that reads:
"An interfund transfer requested by 12:00 p.m. eastern time on a business day will generally be processed that night. The new investment percentages can be viewed online the next business day."

I too was affected. Cost me about $1,000. If anyone finds out what we can do please let me know. My SSN ends with a 9.
Thanks
