GOOD MORNING,

I just wanted to bring to your attention something that I have noticed with my annual SRB installments to TSP. FOr the past two years my annual installment has been posted to TSP as tax-deferred money, it should be posted as tax-exempt. If you are in a similar situation make sure you contact Cleveland, they will adjust it immediately. My PSD and Personnelmen had know idea what I was talking about so I had to go around them.. It's not a lot of money but it was my money. You can track this from the bottom of your LES.

I had not noticed this before, who do I contact in Cleveland to get it adjusted? How big is the difference in money?

If you made your income (contributions) outside the US, then they will be tax-exempt since your income was tax-exempt. Otherwise, they are just tax-deferred (taxed upon withdrawal from TSP/Traditional IRA.

What exactly is the difference between Tax Defered contributions, and Tax Exempt contributions?

My tax exempt balance shown on www.tsp.gov (http://www.tsp.gov) is not correct. It includes my maxed out 10% contribution for the month. But it is short my 100% incentive pay contribution for Imminent Danger Pay and Hardship Duty Location pay. Who do I contact to have this corrected?
