Here are the latest YTD rankings thru the 1st week of July. A big thanks to EWGuy our new track master.

Fundsurfer and Wheels lead the list. Wizard of Oz and Pointman72 top the partial year list.

Congrats to all.:cheesy:

Aslan,

The last couple of trackers have contained a sheet labeled "sheet1". If you've been C-30;S-30;I-40 all year, that's probably your sheet. If so, PM EWGuy (the new tracker maintainer) to request the correction.-----Rokid

Where am I on this? Or was I dq'd for not posting for a while?

I am sorry. You were deleted from the TSPTalk Weekly Tracker in the final June edition sent out. The reason noted on your last tracking sheet was you did not post to your account folder in five months. We had sent out notices informing members their tracker sheet was going to be deleted if they did not post something in the account at least quarterly.

I can verify you were at 30/30/40 C/S/I allocation all year through the end of June. I can also say there was a worksheet named "Sheet 1" and I renamed it to "Market" because I thought this represented a total Market equity position. Its asset allocation was 30/30/40 C/S/I and it was located at exact position where your worksheet was located.

I have PM'd Tom regarding this issue and if there are any rules on minimum posting to account folders, or is it just guidance. Other members were deleted from the Weekly Tracker. One such member posted an IFT today, with their last post being February 10th. So am asking about the rules.

I have no problem adding you back into the Weekly Tracker. It appears your worksheet was renamed to “Sheet 1”. I renamed it to “Market and moved it to the beginning of the Tracker workbook.

I'd say go ahead and reinstate anyone who asks at this point, assuming we have their transfers, but we'll make it a rule from now on.

Did we (mlk_man) originally say you must post at least once per quarter to remain on the tracker? Seems fair. But we'll go with whatever is you decide and members' input on this would be welcomed.

Thanks,
Tom

Mlk_Man periodically reminded members in the Tally thread to post quarterly. Here is one such mention. See his 3-25-2006 entry: http://www.tsptalk.com/mb/showthread.php?t=2545&page=6 (http://www.tsptalk.com/mb/showthread.php?t=2545&page=6)

It sounds like a good rule since the Tracker has grown to more than 6 MB. I have added four new members in the past two weeks, and will restate two others who were deleted. We are now tracking 86 members, 10 funds and the “20% Each” allocation. If this growth continues (2/week) we will be tracking 134 members by the end of the year.

I would like a rule be posted in the sticky folder at the top of Member's Account Returns Tally forum. A member must post at least quarterly in their account folder, or they will be deleted from the TSPTalk Weekly Tracker and the published Monthly Tally. If you have not made any interfund transfers, just periodically post that your fund allocation is unchanged at ?/?/?/?/?.

FundSurfer
07-14-2006, 09:41 PM
Agreed! A sticky at the top would be great. We have had a bunch who fell off and stayed off or else we'd have a lot higher total. I don't think it is too much to ask to just let us know you are still interested. Milk_man posted the warning in the Tally thread several times as well.

So once each quarter or once every 3 months? I guess someone could post the 1st week of the first quarter and the last week of the second quarter. That would be almost 6 months in between. So, would every 3 months be better?

EW_ret
07-15-2006, 12:15 AM
Yes I see where once a quarter could approach six months. Three months should the the maximum length of time between posts in a member's account folder.

Thanks. I have a standard sheet that I insert into your tracker. It only takes a few minutes to change all of the references, sort by YTD return and return since 1 Feb, and print the pdf.

Also, thanks for fixing all of the little errors in the tracker. I've got some risk statistics I'm tracking and, thanks to your fixes, they're now complete and accurate. Keep up the good work!:cheesy:

I think the TSPtalk site is a success. From what I see, the TSPers here are willing to share. Some folks come with the market analytical skills and economic insights; some come with the technical skills and put tremendous time to provide up-to-date stats on spreadsheet; some come with negative comments on anything and I don’t even know what their intent are; however there are folks here that are willing to stand up and prevent this particular group from going too wild. As for the rest of us, we all gain from all these activities and definitely will improve our TSP returns in the long run. Thanks for all of you and specially Tom, the founder of TSPtalk.

Did you look at the Weekly Tracker thread? You would have seen this: Weekly Tracker week ending 7/14/06 (http//www.tsptalk. com/utilities/Tracker071406.xls). You can right-click on it and choose 'Save Target As...' to download it to your computer for later viewing. You have to have an excel reader to view it. :)

Didn't see myself listed in the July tracker but I saw myself in there on the weekly tracker.

One more thing Rokid or Ewguy. My fund allocation from July 5th to July 6th COB should be 10% C and 90% S, rather than 25% C and 75% S. That should put me at -4.36% with the 10/90 rather than the -4.34% with the 25/75. I had talked with Ew about that previously.

Thanks,

You are correct Justin! I forgot to make the correction in the July 14th edition of the Weekly Tracker. I am making the change now so I don't forget again.

I will correct the TSPTalk Weekly Tracker and post in the next installment dated July 21h. Your fund allocation from July 5th to July 6th COB will be 10% C and 90% S, rather than 25% C and 75% S.

You're being tracked. See the tracker (http://www.tsptalk.com/utilities/Tracker072106.xls) thread for your current return.

My guess is that you just don't have a completed month yet to show up on the leader board yet. Once July is over you should see your name.

As of Dec 31st the average allocation of all TSP'ers was 39G 6F 40C 8S 7I. This has produced a 3.8% return YTD. Figuring compounding due to new contributions, etc., it looks like federal employees taken as a whole are up 4% this year.
