My safety protocol has gone to orange after today's market close and time for preparation to secure all TSP funds.

My speadsheet tracking of both TSP accounts show overall losses reaching 4.50% and I consider a 5.00% market down turn normal and somewhat healthy for the markets! But if there is a hemorrhage about to take place I want to be out of Dodge before hand.

My take action drawline in the sand is 5% losses, so beginningMondaymorning I am initiating a transfer (*Effective at Close on Monday) of 25% to G Fund from all three stock funds (C,S,I) no matter ifS&P marketis up by 1% or more, if S&P isanything less than a 1% gain before 12:00ET transfer deadline, I will be transferring 50% out of stocks into G Fund.Tuesdaymorning 12:00ET Deadline. I will be initiating another transfer of 25% from stock funds to G Fundno matter what gainsor losses are for Monday. Wednesdaymorning I will transfer 25% more out of stocks if S&Phas not reachedno less than 2% gains for Monday and Tuesday, if not, 25%more will be transferred out of stocks. At this point I will either be 100% out of stocks or vested only 25% in stocks and that will also be transferred out byThursday morning if S&P does not hold 2% or more positive gains from Mondays opening S&P1,100.00

My green light to fully vest back in stocks will come back on when losses are at 0% including contributions

S&P will need to show 3% gains before Ican allow myself to re-enter stocks again with 25% transfers each day S&P holds over 1,133.00

Not running, just no desire to become a yard dart!

Looks like you've put alot of thought into a plan. Is your plan still a go? Had to laugh at your yard dart analogy. Lol

GTO,

I know how you feel. About a month ago when I found this site my YTD losses were fighting pos/neg% at the time I wasupset with myselffor loosing money.Last week I became furious when I was pusheddown to -3.30% ytd, and made a 100% move to G on Friday before noon.

Well it was a long day and optimism set back in, by 1100pm I found myself moving 100% into the S fund to take affect this evening. The market will turn, jump and jump big. But you are right - we have to be very caution until the rates are adjusted. I'm just looking to retreive that 3.3% back, then will sit mostly in the G till the rate adjustment.
