In the market comments Tom mentioned the feds increasing the interest rate at .5% incriments instead of the current .25% incriments. how does that effect the I fund, and really the economy or rest of the funds in general?

Rising rates have a negative effect oncorporate profits, particularly smaller companies. The I fund would be less effected but they (international markets) do shadow us to some degree.

Welcome, Shaggy!

Yes, the S fund would hurt more than C.

Thank you both for answering my question. I realized that I asked it in the wrong section but I am some what inexperienced on how this chat stuff works. I will try and figure it out before I ask again. I have been watching this site for some time but have never tried to comunicate on it before. In the past 2 years I had 20%-C, 40%-S, 10%-F, 10%-G, 20%-I and never changed it. I do however believe that you have to be smart enough and take the time to learn when to get off the sinking ship.

Comparison of I, S and C looking back one year. The I fund doesn't have the big swings as the S and C, but when the S and C drops, the I sometimes follows but lately not as bad. Still alot of strength in theinternational markets. But for how long??? EFA- some use for the I fund, or you could use EFV, 95899w10- S fund, SP500- C fund

According to MSCI (http://www.msci.com/equity/index2.html) the EAFE was down .71% on Thursday in foreign currency, and down .56% in dollars because the dollar fell slightly on the day.
