Good morning group. I have a question, maybe some of you can help me out with.

I moved 100% to the G Fund, effective on 2/22/05. Today, 2/28/05, when I go to my account balance it shows:

Contributions to your account are being invested as follows:

Investment Fund

Shares

Share Price

Balance

Distribution

G FUND

GOVERNMENT SECURITIES

$10.75

19.68%

100.00%

Why is that? It says at the top that my contributions to my account are 100% in the G Fund, which would be the latest change that I made at least a week ago, but the distribution still shows percentages in the different funds that I had prior to the last interfund transfer. In addition, looking at the account balance from Thursday, 2/24, to today, 2/28, the account balance increased as per the percentages shown in the distribution of the funds that it shows me to be invested in now, above, as opposed to 100% in the G Fund which did not increase at all in the same time period. I am not sure if I am missing something here or if this is some error on the part of TSP. Not that I am really complaining, as any increase is a good thing, but I am trying to get a better understanding of this, as the other side would have been if I had been invested 100% in the G Fund and the distribution was as shown above, and the prices decreased, I would have been losing money, whereas I made the move the 100% G, and they didn’t seem to honor that interfund transfer. In addition, one of my co-workers made the same interfund transfer at the same time and today, her allocation show 100% G Fund as well as her distribution shows 99.73% in the G Fund. I would appreciate any advice on this. Thanks.

To say it is very hard to read is an understatement. However, could it be a transfer/future contributions conflict? Once again I would like to help you, but I can not follow the cut and paste. However, that may be what happened.

Exactly. There is an account allocation, and a contribution allocation.

Your entire balance can be split up one way andyour contributions (new money) can going into another allocation. Also, as the share prices move the percentge in each fund changes slightly.
