Went from 75G 25I to 35C 30S 35I effective COB Friday. Sat on the sideline in the US election fearing an "event." Don't want to make the same mistake again. I expect this to be very short term, then back to safety.

Today was predictable. I have not seen the final totals, but I probably cut my 3.07 2005 loss by a percent!
As promised, I sold this morning, so I am 80F 10C 10I going into Tuesday.
Cool!

Going 80G 10C 10I.
Hoping to get the penny, then readjust.
Now...what will Wednesday night's State of the Union mean for the funds?

I am a little surprised to seeso manyof you jumping back into stocks. Three up days in a row (assuming today stays up) is a bit frightening given the general uncertainty out there. Plus, some have been on the sidelines this week, and may feel compelled to get back in. Personal experience tells me that is dangerous.
From what I read, the institutional buying isn't there. The State of the Union is tonight. If the President proposes anything resembling privatization of SS, we may see a rally tomorrow, or maybe that has already been factored in.
This is a very confusing time; therefore, I'll resist the temptation to try to squeeze any more out Thursday.
Just went 80F 20C effective COB Wednesday. Good luck!

Nice rally Friday :D
I'm going 100F COB Friday.
Dollar heading up a little, so I fund can wait. S fund whipsawing as usual...wouldn't want to buy after big day today. Feel safer in C fund, so will probably get back in sometime next week.
Missed the penny in the G fund...thought it would move on the 6th day. :@
Better safe than sorry this weekend.

S fund up at 10:15 AM, so I think I'll hope the day goes well and bail out. Lost 3 cents in the F fund Thursday. :X So, hopefully, I'll get it back today and then some.
Will go 80G 20 I Cob Friday.

Torture,
Was in mostly F through Thursday's close....got in Friday (Thurs. morning order)for very big day that got me back to even for 2005...am back to 100F tonight.
Not sure what you misunderstood, but hope this clears it up.

Ah, thanks. You're just not posting your moves before the fact. That's what threw me off. Good call today. Good luck.

Torture,
You're right...sorry. In the past, I've posted moves before they were made, but I was late posting this time. Currently 100F and up .03 for the year thanks to Friday.
Planning to go 100G Monday morning to hopefully get the penny Tuesday. Missed it last week with the 5 day G fund run. :X It usually goes 6 days.
Good luck to you as well!

The TSP web site has been extremely slow the last 3 days during the 10-11 AM hour; however, I was able to get my order for 100 I effective COB Wednesday. The F fund has been kicking my tail the last week!

Just got order in for 30C 30S 40I effective COB Wednesday.
Am 50F 50I today. Bond prices way down today. The "F" fund continues to soak my profits as I seek "safety." I hate to go "G" when there is no chance of gaining, but considering the current direction of "F" it may be the way to go.
Anyway, think we may get a little runup tomorrow and/or Friday, so I'll expect to ride it for 2 days, but be out Friday night....to the "G"!!!

As Kramer said, "I'm out!"
Just put in 100G order. Thought about seeking safety in "F" but have been burned doing that lately.
I think US markets are heading down and may take the internationals with them. Europe way down today. Plus, Thursdays can be bad at times.

Put in order for 40 C 30 S 30 I before Tuesday 11:00 deadline.
Decreased I from 55 to 30...increased C and S
I was at a private Retirement seminar yesterday, and the speaker said the C and S funds should doOK this year, and the I fund has a couple of good months left before it falls...
He thinks oil prices are heading down....for whatever that's worth.

Also, he's studied the TSP from a lot of angles. Said the F fund is among the WORST performingcompared withsimilar bond funds, and the C fund is in the top 5% of similar S&P index funds.
just something to chew on...

The F Fund is designed to track the Lehman Brothers U.S. Aggregate (LBA)index. A comparison of LBA and F fund returns indicates that the F Fund is, in fact, tracking the LBA index. Consequently, I don't understand your retirement seminar speaker's comment.

Well, thatdoesn't seem to be workingout like I wanted. Glad I kept 50 in G however.
Went 60 G 20 F 20 I before Friday deadline. Too much weakness. I want to see a couple of up days before I get all in. Was up 1.27 for the year going into today.

RC,
I need your help by posting your move immediately before or after you make your IFT.It makes it harder for those who religiously track your moves if your post is not up to date. It also gives a perception of quarterbacking which, according to Tom's rule, is not allowed here.Thanks...
