I know, and they wouldn't have to deal with the restrictions and make more money to pay us southerners. Do you think they have unions in the plants they moved overseas?

Michigan is a "right-to-work-for-less" state now.

Only gripe critics have of the 85 billion loan is that only 75 million got paid back.
But these same critics fail to mention that letting GM/Chrysler go under would have cost taxpayers nearly 40 billion in lost tax revenue, added unemployment benefits, and would have stunted the current recovery (which those same critics have said would never happen).
Those same critics in late 2008 early 2009 said we would quickly enter a period of massive inflation (which 5 years later never happened).

These critics...should never be heard from again.
this is perfect, what a business model! here's my plan, not as many zeros, but the math's still good.

if i go bankrupt, that is 40 thousand i will not be putting back into the economy. so just lend me 85 thousand and i will pay you back 75 thousand. that's 10 for me and 40 for you. see how that works? i'll be watching under the tree for my bailout.

just a quick 10k, and you'll never hear from me again.

    Just a note:

General Motors released their sales/delivery figures yesterday.

For the first time in a long time, sales were actually DOWN 6.3% from the numbers of December a year before.

    http://media.gm.com/content/dam/Medi...ember-2013.pdf

This is unexpected for me and a serious issue that needs to be watched.
it signals a softer economy, and a slight slowdown in the recovery.

Watch out. When GM sneezes, America catches a cold.

We're still ahead overall for the 2013 vs. 2012 year in total, but the December sales slip is not a good sign.

    Hang on- rough patch ahead.

How Disappointing Are General Motors Company's December Sales Figures? - Daniel Miller, Fool.com

".....While the December figures were mostly disappointing, looking at a longer time frame will help console some investors. Consider that sales in the fourth quarter increased 6% and December still was GM's highest-volume month since August. For the entire year General Motors delivered 7% more vehicles for a total of 2.8 million vehicles in the U.S. and its retail sales increased a healthy 11%......"

Hey- I wish them all the luck in the world. So far you cannot buy one.

    but that's ok.

The last time somebody tried that particular idea, they did pretty good for a couple years.

In fact, they ended up building almost 360 of them before going bankrupt.

There is a benefit to having three wheels-
By not having four wheels in contact with the ground, they avoid having to meet crash test standards for automobiles.
That saves a lot of money in the design if you don't mind of anyone gets killed.

    Have you ordered yours yet?

Nice looking vehicle. Too bad it's not a diesel. They might get 100 MPG.

I dunno man, looks a bit more sturdy than most of the other tiny 4 wheelers on the road. Looking at it next to a 4 door caddy (can't tell if it's a photo trick or not) makes me think it's more sturdy than the tiny econo-boxes that get way less mpg than this one does. Plus its got airbags and a roll cage and its physical layout makes it way more nimble.

The U.S. government lost $11.2 billion on its bailout of General Motors, more than the $10.3 billion the Treasury Department estimated when it sold its remaining GM shares in December, according to a government report released on Wednesday.
