A test

The market gave way late yesterday after as we finally saw what appeared to be some profit taking.  For the first time in a while the "buy the dippers" didn't step up, but today's another day.  Now the indices are facing a convergence of resistance and support, and something's going to give.

Today starts the weaker six-month period of the year, but the first three trading days in May do have a strong historical positive bias.  After that however, it gets a little dicey seasonality-wise.

May 1st is May Day and many of the European markets will be closed for the day.  I suspect that means the Asian markets will have a larger impact on the I fund today.  As I write this Monday night, the Japanese and Hong Kong markets are down about 1%.  But the I fund seems to have already factored in that by way of fair value with its 0.58% drop yesterday as the EAFE actually closed slightly higher yesterday.

Trader Fred has some interesting data to share in today's TSP Trader System commentary.  Read how close the system came to moving to a sell signal yesterday on the system page.

That's all for today.  I am currently 100% F fund.  See you tomorrow.
